Job summary

Bornquist Inc. is seeking a Sales Application Engineer in Northbrook, IL, to act as the primary technical resource for the sales team. The role supports pre- and post-sales activities across commercial, municipal, industrial and residential building systems and equipment projects.

You will review requirements, prepare quotations, and build strong relationships with engineers, contractors and end users. A Bachelor’s in Engineering or related experience is required, with ERP/CRM familiarity and a

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or 1–2 years of related experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general internet functionality.
• Experience with Prophet 21 by Epicor; training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support and expertise to sales, inside sales, purchasing, service and customers.
• Reviews customer requirements, project, bid, RFQ specifications, sourcing requirements and application information to determine the best solution(s).
• Prepares job quotations including list of products and services, pricing, delivery and freight information.
• Builds and maintains relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, engineers, contractors, end users and wholesalers.
• Records in CRM system details of customer interactions or transactions, quotations, inquiries and comments, as well as any actions taken.
