Job summary

Bornquist is seeking a Sales Application Engineer in Northbrook, IL. This full-time role supports the sales team with technical expertise for commercial, industrial HVAC and plumbing projects, pre- and post-sales activities, and customer satisfaction.

You will review requirements, prepare quotations, maintain CRM records, and assist with seminars and field start-ups. A BS in Engineering and proficiency with Microsoft Office are required; Prophet 21 experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet basics.
• Experience with Prophet 21 by Epicor preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret submittals a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to sales, inside sales, purchasing, service and customers.
• Reviews customer requirements, project, bid and RFQ specs to determine best solution.
• Prepares job quotations with products, pricing, delivery and freight info.
• Builds and maintains relationships with manufacturers, engineers, contractors and end users.
• Records CRM details of interactions, quotations and inquiries.
• Assists sales and service with seminars, training and field start-ups.
• Attends meetings to discuss quotes, pending projects and schedules.
• Acts as back-up for inside sales during vacations or peak periods.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
