Position Overview

The Sales Analyst will be a key analytical and operational partner to the Wholesale Sales Team, with a focus on key accounts, providing the data, insights, and day-to-day support needed to drive sales performance and customer growth.

This role will work cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, Product Development, and retail customers to connect the dots between sales performance, customer demand, inventory, forecasting, purchase orders, and operational execution.

The ideal candidate is analytical, highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive. This person will not simply report data—they will identify trends, uncover opportunities and risks, ask the right questions, and help the Sales Team determine what actions need to be taken.

The Sales Analyst will also support account management and senior sales leaders with customer requests, sales presentations, line reviews, business reviews, and ongoing account needs.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Analysis & Business Insights
  • Analyze sales performance across wholesale key accounts to identify trends, growth opportunities, and areas of decline.
  • Track and analyze customer POS, sell-through, inventory, and purchasing data where available.
  • Monitor account-level performance and proactively identify significant changes or opportunities.
  • Compare quarterly sales results against budget and provide analysis of key variances.
  • Monitor new-product performance following launch and identify opportunities or concerns.
  • Analyze promotional performance and its impact on sales and sell-through.
  • Develop and maintain customer scorecards and key performance reporting.
  • Partner with Mass Markets to identify broader sales trends and opportunities.
  • Provide actionable insights to help the Sales Team prioritize opportunities and address potential issues.
  • Support quarterly business reviews, customer presentations, line reviews, and other sales meetings with relevant data and insights.
Forecasting, Inventory & New Product Planning
  • Develop initial sales forecasts for new products in partnership with the Sales Team.
  • Review customer forecasts and incorporate retailer demand signals into sales planning.
  • Monitor retailer inventory and identify potential out-of-stock, overstock, and inventory risks.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain to proactively address inventory challenges and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain Analyst on customer demand, forecasting, and new-item planning.
  • Monitor inventory trends across wholesale key accounts and other sales channels, and communicate potential issues to the appropriate teams.
  • Help identify overstock opportunities and recommend strategies to support sell-through and inventory reduction.
Purchase Order & Operations Support
  • Track customer purchase orders, shipments, and order status in partnership with Operations.
  • Maintain accurate visibility into open orders, shipments, inventory, and customer demand.
  • Provide timely updates to Account Managers and buyers regarding changes to purchase orders, quantities, timing, or shipments.
  • Identify potential order or fulfillment issues and proactively communicate risks and potential solutions.
  • Serve as a key liaison between Sales and Operations to ensure the Sales Team has accurate, up-to-date information.

Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of experience in sales operations, sales analysis, business analysis, retail, consumer products, wholesale, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, Analytics, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to work confidently with large data sets.
  • Experience working with retailer POS, inventory, forecasting, or sales data preferred.
  • Retail, consumer products, or wholesale experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify problems, ask questions, connect the dots, and develop solutions.
  • Experience with NetSuite or another ERP system preferred.
  • Experience with Target, Walmart, or other major retailer data platforms is a plus.
