Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Analyst II, Sales Analytics to help advance analytics related to agency compensation and incentive programs. In this role, you will work alongside the broader sales analytics team on other sales analytics efforts including sales planning, territory management, agency analytics, business performance analytics, and multi-rater analytics. This position engages with sales, technical product analysts, and product management, to assist in developing analytics offerings around compensation analytics and for sales.

Scope And Impact

This is a hands‑on individual contributor position – prior experience in P&C sales analytics, product management, or related discipline is required. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of P&C concepts, sales/underwriting, strong analytics acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members across various disciplines – sales, product management, data science, and IT. While this role is primarily remote, this role will be required to travel for the National Sales Meeting and other designated in‑person team events.

  • $62,860 to $116,356 (UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, NE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV)

The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.

Responsibilities
  • Support a Consultative Practice & Strategy Supporting Sales Analytics for Mercury.
  • Work with the Sr. Manager of Sales Analytics to assist the long term and short term vision and strategy for Sales.
Analytics at Mercury
  • Delivers strong data integrity and accuracy across all work efforts.
  • Adhere to a strong QA practice across all work efforts; responsible for following controls and identifying QA enhancement needs.
  • Assist in developing analytics solutions and delivering business insights/recommendations for a wide variety of sales analytics topics such as, compensation management, sales planning, agency analytics, initiative post-monitoring, territory, and sales performance analytics.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Manager of Sales Analytics to support the evolution and scenario testing of new compensation models, including standard commissions, bonuses, and incentives; experience working with CBA, forecasting, and other scenario testing models for P&C insurance.
  • Contribute to the development of complex models and A/B testing and partner with data science team on configurations of models, interpretation of results, and business recommendations leveraging advanced analytics.
  • Experience with A/B testing.
  • Establish bespoke analytics for evolving distribution models such as comparative raters and API integrations; delivering proactive analytics insights in collaboration with Digital and Comparative Rater Lead role.
  • Strong data management skills and SQL experience.
  • Experience with data visualization packages such as PowerBI, Tableau; with the ability to support building dashboards, communicate business requirements, and deliver insights in a clear, business-relevant way.
Team Partnership
  • Connect with the analytics team, and other internal business partners such as Product, Data Science, IT, and the Sales Team, fostering a collaborative environment and delivering solid productivity and quality standards.
  • Support sales organization by assisting in thought leadership around how analytics can support broader sales strategies.
  • Ideal candidate should have natural curiosity and drive to find analytics solutions to an array of sales-oriented business topics; takes initiative on finding creative and efficient solutions.
  • Identify business recommendations based on insights learned from the analytics.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Work closely with data science, IT, sales leadership, product management, and underwriting partners to understand business needs and deliver solutions.
  • Expected to build strong working relationships with Sales, Data Science, IT, and the Salesforce team, fostering a collaborative, team oriented partnership across these key stakeholder groups.
Project Management
  • Candidate should be comfortable with managing their project queue, short and long term, and can adapt to changing priorities due to business needs.
  • Candidate should be comfortable communicating project status and execute on their project deliverables.
Training
  • Demonstrates interest in continuous learning of insurance and brings enthusiasm for working within the Sales organization.

Qualifications

Minimum
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field.
Preferred
  • Experience working in a P&C analytics role; experience working with sales/underwriting preferred.
Experience

Minimum: 3+ years experience in sales analytics, product management or related P&C insurance analytics.

Skills & Abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Solid communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with P&C analytics and Microsoft Office Suite.
