Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior engineering professional to provide advanced technical support for downstream refining processes across the Texas/Gulf Coast region. The role acts as a field SME, collaborating with Service Delivery, Sales, and Technology teams to design technical job programs and deliver on‑demand process support.

The candidate will conduct technical audits, deliver trainings, and lead projects while mentoring developing team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred).
  • 15+ years of downstream refining experience, including 10+ years in refining process applications.
  • Strong knowledge of crude process units, related chemical technologies, digital tools, and industry standards.
  • 10+ years of field, operations, or application support experience within refining process technologies.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Clear verbal and written communication of complex technical concepts.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% based on customer and operational needs.
  • Provide technical mentorship and support for developing team members.
  • Available for on‑call support outside normal business hours.
  • Proven ability to lead, plan, coordinate, and deliver projects and programs.

Requirements
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • Have a minimum of 15+ years of downstream refining experience, including 10+ years in refining process applications.
  • Strong knowledge of crude process units, related chemical technologies, digital tools, and applicable industry standards.
  • Have 10+ years of field, operations, or application support experience within refining process technologies.
  • Be capable of working independently while collaborating effectively within multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to audiences at all experience levels, both verbally and in writing.
  • Be willing to travel up to 50% based on customer and operational needs.
  • Provide technical mentorship and support for developing team members.
  • Be available for on‑call support outside of normal business hours.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead, plan, coordinate, and deliver projects and programs successfully.
