NPW Group creates design-led, trend-driven products that make people smile. We are home to the world-famous Drinking Buddies and a growing portfolio spanning novelty gifts, party, drinkware, stationery, toys, craft, and bath and body. With more than 30 years in business, our products are sold through major retailers, specialty stores, and e-commerce channels across North America. We are a small, fast-growing team working from a creative loft office in downtown Cincinnati. This is an opportunity to learn quickly, contribute across the business, and make a visible impact on how we grow.
About the Role
We are hiring a Sales Account Manager to own and grow a portfolio of retail accounts, including At Home, Meijer, Indigo, and other key partners. This is a true B2B sales role: you will build relationships with buyers and category managers, present products and programs, grow existing business, and actively pursue new opportunities. The role also includes the detailed account and project management needed to turn a pitch into a successful retail program - from presentations and follow-up through item setup, paperwork, timelines, and internal coordination. The right person is commercially hungry, highly organized, comfortable taking initiative, and excited by products, retail, and consumer trends. This is a salaried, non-commissioned role within a collaborative sales team.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day relationships and sales performance for an assigned portfolio of retail accounts.
- Build trusted relationships with buyers, category managers, and other customer stakeholders; understand their priorities, calendars, consumers, and retail strategies.
- Develop and deliver persuasive product presentations, pitches, and proposals tailored to each retailer and opportunity.
- Grow existing accounts by identifying new categories, departments, programs, and seasonal opportunities.
- Prospect for and pursue new business, from initial outreach and relationship development through presentation, follow-up, and close.
- Create account plans and sales forecasts; monitor performance, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend actions to drive revenue.
- Translate customer feedback, retail insights, and emerging trends into clear opportunities for the Sales, Product, Design, and Operations teams.
- Manage the full account workflow, including quotes, samples, presentation materials, item setup, customer forms, portals, order follow-up, and program timelines.
- Partner closely with internal teams to ensure accurate execution, clear communication, and a strong customer experience.
- Travel several times per year for customer meetings, trade shows, and other sales events; company-paid travel is provided.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of professional sales, account management, or business development experience with a record of growing revenue or winning new business.
- Confidence selling in a B2B environment and presenting to customers in person, virtually, and through polished written materials.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the persistence to create momentum, follow up, and move opportunities forward.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail; comfortable balancing sales activity with account administration and multiple deadlines.
- A strong eye for consumer and retail trends, plus genuine enthusiasm for fun, design-led products.
- Clear communication, practical problem-solving, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and other standard business tools.
- Willingness and ability to work in our downtown Cincinnati office and travel several times per year.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in consumer products, wholesale, retail, gifting, novelty, or another trend-led category.
- Experience selling to major or specialty retailers, working directly with retail buyers, or managing retailer portals and item setup.
- Existing buyer or category-manager relationships relevant to NPW’s customer base.
