Job summary

McKeever Price Chopper is hiring a Salad Bar Clerk to prepare and maintain the salad bar and cold food displays throughout the day. You will help ensure the area stays clean, stocked, and attractive while following safety standards.

Responsibilities include stocking, labeling, and assisting customers with requests. This role supports the deli/kitchen team with light prep and cleaning tasks and offers on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Friendly, dependable, and able to work independently.
• Basic food prep and knife handling skills preferred.
• Willing to obtain a food handler permit (McKeever’s will assist)
• Ability to follow recipes, portion control, and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fresh salad bar items including chopped vegetables, fruits, toppings, and pre-made salads.
• Stock, rotate, and organize cold display cases and salad bar items.
• Monitor product freshness and quality, removing any expired or spoiled items.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and appealing salad bar area.
• Label and date all prepared items according to company standards.
• Follow all food safety, handling, and sanitation guidelines.
• Assist customers with questions or special requests.
• Support the deli/kitchen team with light prep and cleaning tasks as needed.
