Job summary
The Department of Business and Industry, Safety Consultation and Training Section in Reno, State of Nevada, seeks a Safety Specialist, Training to design and deliver safety training at worksites and other venues. A relevant degree and experience with training or CSP/CSHM certification are required, with up to 25% travel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 2 years of adult education experience with curriculum development and course presentation in safety topics.
- Or Bachelor's in a related science field with 4 years of relevant experience.
- CSHM or CSP certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year of Nevada State service safety training experience optional.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and present formal training on safety and health topics for various audiences.
- Instruct, assist, and motivate employers to achieve regulatory compliance and safe practices.
- Develop safety and health management systems and training materials.
- Conduct research and analyze training needs and participant competency.
