Job summary

A transportation service provider is seeking a Safety and Training Manager to oversee compliance with safety regulations and manage training programs. The ideal candidate will have expertise in transit safety, strong organizational and analytical skills, and relevant certifications. Responsibilities include ensuring a consistent safety culture and managing employee claims effectively. This role is crucial in maintaining high safety standards and requires a College Degree or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Experience working in transit, preferably urban public.
• Previous passenger transportation experience preferred.
• Familiar with windows‑based computer operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Implement programs and procedures in compliance with regulations.
• Ensure all operators meet training requirements.
• Oversee corporate safety incentives and programs.
• Proactively manage employee injury claims to minimize lost time.

Skills

Transit safety experience in Fixed Route and/or Paratransit

Strong organizational skills

Ability to communicate effectively

Strong analytical skills

Ability to read, write and speak English

Education

College Degree or 3+ years of safety management experience

CDS (Certified Director of Safety) and/or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) Designation
