Job summary

SmartLam North America seeks a Safety and Training Coordinator in Columbia Falls, MT, to lead the development and continuous improvement of safety programs. The role partners with leadership to promote a culture of safety, maintain regulatory compliance, and support operational excellence.

Responsibilities include leading training, audits, investigations, and emergency preparedness while serving as the facility’s primary safety resource.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health, safety, or related field preferred
• Five years of related experience required
• OSHA knowledge required
• Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
• Experience with safety reporting and data analysis

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve safety programs to ensure a safe workplace
• Lead training, audits, investigations, and emergency preparedness activities
• Maintain OSHA 300 logs and analyze incident data to identify trends
• Coordinate contractor safety orientation and compliance with site safety requirements
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations using root cause analysis
• Promote safety culture through employee engagement and safety committees
• Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure corrective actions are completed
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies
