Job summary

SRM Concrete is seeking a Safety Technician to champion our safety culture across plant and field locations. You will conduct regular site inspections, identify hazards, and ensure regulatory compliance while supporting workers and management.

You will lead investigations of accidents, coordinate workers’ compensation processes, develop training programs, and share best practices with regional and national teams. A bachelor’s degree and 5 years of safety experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; five years of safety or management experience strongly desired.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a safety team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and ensure safety compliance.
  • Coordinate and manage all motor vehicle accident investigations and reporting.
  • Oversee workers’ compensation claims and support affected employees.
  • Develop and maintain inspection policies, procedures, and audits.

Your Mission & Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, assess safety risks, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage all motor vehicle accident investigations and reporting within your assigned region.
  • Oversee and manage worker’s compensation claims, partnering with team members and management to support affected employees.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain inspection policies, procedures, and schedules for routine safety audits.
  • Create and execute both short-term and long-term strategies to foster a proactive safety culture across the organization.
  • Schedule and deliver engaging safety training sessions on emergency procedures, workplace safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor adherence to safety protocols, document findings, and provide comprehensive reports to leadership.
  • Collaborate with regional and national teams to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall mission of SRM Concrete.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; five years of experience in a safety or management role strongly desired.
  • High level of integrity, commitment, and passion for safety excellence.
  • Capable of conducting thorough site inspections and carrying necessary equipment.
  • Comfortable with prolonged periods of desk work and computer use.
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
  • Physically able to visit and work at concrete plants, mines, and construction sites on a routine basis.
