Job summary

SRM Concrete is seeking a Safety Technician to champion safety culture and initiatives across our nationwide network. You will lead site inspections, investigations, workers’ compensation support, and safety training to reduce risks and protect employees.

Ideal candidates bring a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in safety or management, with strong communication and analytical skills. This full-time role requires travel to plants and construction sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; five years in safety/management role desired.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to educate team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, assess safety risks, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage motor vehicle accident investigations and reporting within your assigned region.
  • Oversee and manage workers' compensation claims, supporting affected employees.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain inspection policies, procedures, and schedules for routine safety audits.
  • Create and execute short- and long-term strategies to foster a proactive safety culture.
  • Schedule and deliver engaging safety training sessions on emergency procedures and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor adherence to safety protocols, document findings, and report to leadership.
  • Collaborate with regional and national teams to share best practices and drive improvement.
  • Perform other related duties to support SRM Concrete mission.

Your Mission & Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, assess safety risks, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage all motor vehicle accident investigations and reporting within your assigned region.

  • Proficiency with technology and equipment used in environmental and safety inspections.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; five years of experience in a safety or management role strongly desired.
  • High level of integrity, commitment, and passion for safety excellence.
  • Capable of conducting thorough site inspections and carrying necessary equipment.
  • Comfortable with prolonged periods of desk work and computer use.
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
  • Physically able to visit and work at concrete plants, mines, and construction sites on a routine basis.
