Are you seeking a job with a company that is a top leader in its field? BAE Systems may be the answer to your search. Our Jacksonville FL location is seeking to add several new members to our SHE/Safety team.

The selected candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily inspections of various work areas including sea-going vessels, piers, docks, and buildings, ensuring compliance with safety/health regulations, company policies, standards, and customer requirements.
  • Identify and facilitate corrections of potential hazards or infractions, or cease operations until corrected. Focus areas include life and safety codes, safe work practices, PPE, slips, trips, fall protections, fire prevention, confined space entry, hazard communication, electrical safety, machine guarding, etc.
  • Perform housekeeping and fire prevention walks onboard vessels for each shift.
  • Attend daily morning and afternoon production meetings.
  • Disseminate reports from housekeeping and fire prevention walks.
  • Conduct incident/injury investigations and prepare reports, including sending reports to government agencies as required.
  • Monitor lab results for paint samples and complete/update initial determinations for SERMC.
  • Complete subcontractor check-in processes for each availability.
  • Conduct safety portions of new hire orientation and monthly safety training sessions.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • High school diploma/GED and at least 1 year of experience in safety or a related field.
  • Good communication skills, ability to interact with various levels of personnel, and capacity to teach large groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Physical ability to meet job demands.
  • Ability to obtain DBIDS.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • OSHA 521, 3095, 3115, 5410 courses, or Shipyard Competent Person certification.
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $41,200 - $65,900

Note: Salaries are determined by various factors including market conditions, experience, and qualifications.
