Job summary

Generac Power Systems is seeking a Safety Tech at our Jefferson, WI facility. You will work with the EHS site leader and cross-functional teams to implement shift-specific health and safety programs, prevent accidents and educate staff on safety best practices.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 6 months of manufacturing experience, and knowledge of OSHA, EPA, WDNR, and DOT regulations. Strong communication and ability to influence teams are essential, with occasional travel

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 6 months experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, WDNR, DOT and local regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; public speaking ability.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in floor safety needs such as incident response, safety coaching (limited), PPE distribution, ergonomic assessments, safety audits, pre-pros for altered products and/or new product.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation.
  • Collect environmental compliance data as directing including air monitoring, filter performance readings, and hazardous waste inspections.
  • Monitor and archive inspection supplies for all in-house powered industrial trucks (PITs).
  • Be the primary contact for Environmental, Health and Safety issues on the production floor.
  • Post new emergency procedures, update SDS files, archive incident reports, and training documentation.
  • Assist in emergency response(s) and communication.
