Job summary

Generac Power Systems is seeking a Safety Tech in Jefferson, WI to support the EHS site leader and cross-functional teams. This role focuses on preventing workplace accidents and promoting health and safety awareness at the manufacturing site.

The Safety Tech will handle incident response, safety training, and environmental data collection, while ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, WDNR, and DOT regulations. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED and manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 6 months experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrate understanding of OSHA, EPA, WDNR, DOT and local regulations.
  • Proven knowledge of safety equipment and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence teams and individuals across multiple functions within the organization.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in floor safety needs such as incident response, safety coaching (limited), PPE distribution, ergonomic assessments, safety audits, pre-pros for altered products and or new product.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation.
  • Collect environmental compliance data including air monitoring, filter performance readings, and hazardous waste inspections.
  • Monitor and archive inspection supplies for all in-house powered industrial trucks (PITs).
  • Be the primary contact for Environmental, Health and Safety issues on the production floor.
  • Post new emergency procedures, update SDS files, archive incident reports, and training documentation.
  • Assist in emergency response(s) and communication.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

In the role of Safety Tech, you will work closely with EHS site leader and specialists and cross-functional teams throughout the facility. The Safety Tech is responsible for shift specific environmental, health and safety functions to prevent workplace accidents and promote health and safety awareness and education to fellow employees at the manufacturing site.

Requirements:

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
