Job summary

Primoris Energy Services is seeking a Safety Tech to help create and enforce site safety programs on projects in Baton Rouge, LA. The role focuses on inspections, hazard mitigation, incident investigations, and training to promote a strong safety culture.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification, and at least two years of safety experience in energy, construction, or industrial settings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in energy, construction, or industrial sectors.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations (OSHA, EPA)
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to perform physical duties on job sites (walking, climbing, lifting).
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, implementation, and enforcement of company safety policies and procedures per OSHA and client requirements.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections, identify hazards, and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor compliance with PPE, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and fall protection protocols.
• Assist with incident investigations and documenting findings.
• Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions.
• Maintain accurate safety records (inspection, training, incident reports).
• Collaborate with project management to address safety concerns and implement solutions.
• Respond to emergencies on-site and support response efforts.
• Promote proactive safety culture through communication and training.
• Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
