Job summary

Generac in Wisconsin is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join our facility team. This role performs emergency, routine and preventive maintenance on production and building equipment, including mechanical, electrical and PLC systems, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years of hands-on experience with industrial equipment, blueprints and electrical safety standards such as OSHA and NEC.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of experience maintaining industrial equipment or automation.
• Experience reading blueprints or schematics and interpreting drawings.
• Knowledge of OSHA, Arc Flash, LOTO and NEC safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Support and service production lines within the facility.
• Mechanical, electrical and PLC troubleshooting and repair.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production line equipment.
• Seasonal external facility maintenance.
• Small engine repair.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and schematics.
• Order parts and materials; maintain PMs and work orders.
• Maintain 5S program and training compliance.

Following established process and procedures, the Maintenance Technician ll performs emergency, routine and preventive maintenance on all production and building equipment while maintaining safety and communicating effectively. This position is responsible for daily problem solving and repair of robotic, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical or small outdoor power equipment associated with manufacturing and facility operations.

Responsibilities

• Support and service of production lines within the facility
• Mechanical, electrical and PLC troubleshooting and repair
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance of production line equipment
• Seasonal external facility maintenance
• Small engine repair
• Reading and interpreting blue prints, drawings and building schematics
• Miscellaneous facility maintenance as needed
• Replacement of broken or outdated building mechanicals, lighting or bathroom fixtures
• Email and phone conversations with vendors
• Ordering parts and materials
• Maintenance of 5S program
• Maintaining compliance with training programs
• Maintenance and system entry of PM’s and work orders

Minimum Job Requirements

High School Diploma or GED 2+ years of experience maintaining industrial equipment, automation or product repair

Preferred Job Requirements

Experience reading and working from blueprints and interpreting advances drawings and schematics

Demonstrated knowledge in OSHA, Arc Flash, LOTO and NEC

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Initiative to learn how to assist, diagnose and repair equipment
• Ability to acquire and maintain certifications for operation of service equipment

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
