ColonialWebb Contractors in Richmond, VA is seeking an experienced Safety Technician to coach and enforce safety best practices on site and conduct safety assessments to ensure OSHA compliance and safe working conditions for employees. You will coordinate safety tasks on site, inspect facilities and equipment, and identify corrective actions to bring sites into compliance.

A high school diploma and OSHA-related certifications are required along with First Aid/CPR/AED certification, with

Competenze

• 2+ years of safety experience, preferably in construction.
• OSHA 30 certification required.
• Construction Site Safety Technician Certification (CSST) or CHST a plus.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification required.
• Ability to learn and enforce current corporate policies and Virginia OSHA regulations.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards and US Army Corps of Engineers Safety program.
• Bilingual and trainer certifications are a plus but not required.

• Assist the employees and management of the site in the enforcement of the safety procedures within the Safety and Risk Program to ensure state and federal OSHA compliance in the field and reduce the risk of employee injury.
• Coordinate all tasks and functions on site to ensure they are performed safely in accordance with company safety policies and procedures and OSHA standards.
• Sustain safe operations by conducting site visits/inspections of facilities, work areas and equipment; observing and documentation employee work practices and improving safety preparedness.
• Identify corrective actions necessary to bring job sites into compliance with applicable codes, laws, regulations, and standards, and explain these measures to others.
• Inspect the availability, readiness and proper use of required accident prevention procedures, safety and fire prevention equipment, protective clothing and devices, and first aid supplies.
• Recommend and follow up to verify the implementation of corrective actions.
• Identify and recommend safety equipment, material and supplies for work operations.
• Assist in reporting and investigating workers compensation and general liability claims on job sites; act as a liaison with workers’ compensation issues.
• Conduct and/or assist with job hazard analysis
