Job Title: Safety Technician

Summary

Kuharchik Construction seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented Safety Technician to collaborate directly with electrical construction crews to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical safety regulations, a proactive approach to hazard identification, and the ability to utilize data to drive continuous safety improvements. The successful candidate will play a key role in reducing incidents and fostering a safety culture on our projects.


Responsibilities
  1. On-Site Safety Oversight & Collaboration:
  • Work alongside electrical construction crews, providing real-time safety guidance and support.
  • Conduct regular job site inspections to identify hazards.
  • Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations (OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, etc.).
  • Participate in pre-task planning meetings, providing input on safe procedures and training.
  • Data-Driven Safety Analysis & Reporting:
    • Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
    • Use data analysis to identify trends and high-risk activities.
    • Prepare safety reports with statistical analysis and present findings to management.
  • Training & Education:
    • Deliver safety training on electrical safety, LOTO, PPE, hazard recognition, and incident reporting.
    • Conduct toolbox talks to reinforce safe work practices.
    • Stay updated on safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis:
    • Investigate incidents and conduct root cause analyses.
    • Prepare incident reports with recommendations to prevent recurrence.
    • Coordinate with insurance providers for reporting and documentation.
  • Emergency Response:
    • Assist in developing emergency response plans.
    • Ensure emergency equipment is maintained and accessible.
    Qualifications
    • Experience in electrical construction safety, preferably with hands-on crew experience.
    • OSHA 30-hour Construction Certification and familiarity with electrical safety standards (NEC, NFPA 70E).
    • Relevant electrical safety certifications (e.g., Arc Flash Training) are highly desirable.
    • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
    • Excellent data analysis, communication, and relationship-building skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
