The Safety Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing the company’s employee safety at work, specifically project sites. Their main duty is to ensure that the company complies and adheres to both Accelevation and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines to reduce work-related injuries. Additionally, they will assist with facilitating the training of Field Operations trade team members to support the expansion of knowledge and certifications at the trade level. The Safety Coordinator is the first line of oversight for the trade team in regards to safe operations and conduct on the project site.
Employees must be able to hear, speak, and communicate effectively. Work occurs in data center environments with potential exposure to electrical hazards, noise, and varying temperatures. Flexible hours, including nights and weekends, may be required. Physical requirements include bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead. Must lift at least 50 lbs, raise arms above shoulder level, and perform overhead work for extended periods. The ability to climb and carry ladders (up to 12 ft), navigate stairways, and work at heights up to 90 ft using ladders, scaffolds, or lifts is essential. Employees must access restricted areas (e.g., switchgear rooms, vaults, tunnels, crawl spaces) and wear full PPE. Good vision and hearing (normal or corrected) and accurate color identification are required. Some projects may lack food facilities, so bringing meals and snacks is necessary. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.
