Job summary

Brown and Root Industrial Services seeks an HSE Tech for field-based safety leadership in a high-hazard environment. You will observe daily operations, coordinate with multiple contractors, and enforce compliance with applicable safety laws and site policies to prevent incidents.

The role focuses on continuous improvement of safety practices, incident analysis, and promoting a proactive safety culture across the client sites.

Qualifications

• This role requires vigilance in on-site safety, adherence to regulations, and ability to mentor contractors.
• Strong communication across teams and a proactive safety mindset are essential.
• Experience coordinating safety observations and corrective actions is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform field observations to ensure the highest safety standards for employees.
• Learn the units and equipment, interact with multiple contractors in the chemical industry.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws, regulations, and codes on site.
• Conduct safety walks and audits; provide corrective feedback to workers.
• Develop and implement safety training plans for contractor orientations.
• Identify hazardous conditions and implement actions to mitigate risk.
• Analyze incident data to drive corrective actions and safety improvements.
• Maintain alignment with safety policy handbooks and site policies.
• Demonstrate leadership, strong planning, and organizational skills.

Outage Safety

This position is responsible for field observations, to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who enjoys the challenges of daily involvement with multiple contractors in the chemical industry.

• Make job walks and get familiar with the units you will be working in. Learn the equipment, etc.
• Ensure that federal, state and local laws, regulations, rules and codes are observed by contractors.
• Assist, with plan to implement move in/out contractor safety training for employee orientation programs.
• Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the client’s workplace during on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.
• Participate in the safety observation program, submit feedback and assure documents are begin submitted and tracked accordingly.
• Provide advice and counseling for all compliance regulations.
• Compile, analyze, and interpret incident report data to develop corrective actions to eliminate risk. Assure compliance to company safety policy handbook and site-specific policies.
• Participate in safety walks & audits, provide positive correction advice to employees working at risk.
• Self-starter yet able to take orders as directed.
• Any other duties deemed necessary in alignment with business & departmental needs.
• Possess a high level of technical expertise, ability to apply skills to continuous process improvement while maintaining maximum levels of safety
• Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities
• Excellent communication skills up and down organizational structure
• Strong planning, organizational and follow up skills
• Bilingual is plus
• Excellent people and process management skills
