Sheakley in Tampa, FL is seeking a Safety Technician to provide daily field safety oversight for crane-related operations on a long-term construction project. The role emphasizes hands-on safety, hazard recognition, and active involvement in lifting activities.

Qualified candidates will have OSHA certifications, CPR, and 2+ years crane safety experience, with Procore proficiency and strong on-site presence. Local candidates preferred for this 1099 contractor assignment.

Qualifications

  • OSHA 500 or 510 certification required.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification required.
  • Minimum 2+ years crane safety experience.
  • Experience supporting active commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily field safety oversight for construction and crane-related operations.
  • Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas.
  • Monitor crane activities, rigging operations, material handling, and critical lifts.
  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments.
  • Review lift plans, JHAs, and pre-task planning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions.
  • Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel.
  • Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and subcontractors.
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
  • Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project.

Safety Technician

Location: Tampa, FL

Duration: 2 Years (Start: ASAP)

Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $60/hr

Overtime: Available based on project schedule

Per Diem: None (Local Only)

Completion Bonus: $150/month

Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule: Monday-Saturday | Approximately 48 Hours/Week

Additional Schedule Details: Long-term assignment supporting the full duration of the project.

Required Qualifications

What You'll Be Doing
