Job summary

Sheakley is seeking Safety Managers for day and night shifts to cover electrical construction and utility installation at a Barstow, TX data center project. You will lead safety on-site, enforce NFPA 70E, review JHAs, and coordinate with electricians and supervision to mitigate hazards and maintain compliance.

The role requires OSHA 30, 5+ years in construction safety, and experience with electrical contractors.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Construction Certification is required.
• 5+ years of construction safety experience.
• Experience working with electrical contractors is required.
• NFPA 70E knowledge and experience.
• Experience conducting field inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and compliance monitoring.
• Strong understanding of OSHA electrical and construction safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily safety activities for electrical construction and utility installation operations.
• Maintain a strong field presence alongside electricians, field supervision, and project leadership.
• Conduct routine site inspections, audits, field observations, and risk assessments.
• Monitor electrical installation, underground utility, conduit, and infrastructure activities.
• Support electrical equipment installation and evolving energization activities.
• Monitor temporary power systems and electrical work practices.
• Enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous-energy control procedures.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, OSHA regulations, and project safety requirements.
• Review JHAs, pre-task plans, permits, and energy control procedures.
• Identify hazards before work begins and lead incident investigations.

Required Qualifications

• Data center construction experience
• Strong NFPA 70E electrical safety experience
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous-energy control experience
• Experience supporting energized work planning and electrical safe work practices
• Underground utility or electrical infrastructure experience
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• CHST, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credential

• Partner with project supervision to proactively identify and mitigate hazards
• Promote a positive safety culture throughout the project

Salary: $52.50 - $55 per hour
