Top Echelon LLC is seeking a Safety Specialist to support on-site projects involving installation of automated material handling and robotics equipment for customers across domestic locations. The role emphasizes implementing strategic safety plans and enhancing EHS performance on site.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in EHS or related field, 1–2 years of safety experience with large-scale equipment, and willingness to travel up to 90% (international travel included).

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in safety, preferably with large-scale equipment.
  • Familiarity with Automated Material Handling Systems is a plus.
  • Understanding of electro/mechanical manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, review and update installation site safety plans.
  • Maintain safety plan documents and ensure compliance.
  • Develop and monitor health and safety policies, programs and procedures.
  • Coach and train Safety Department staff; manage performance.
  • Investigate incidents, report findings and implement preventive actions.
  • Ensure hazard-free working conditions and safe practices at sites.

ProSearch Recruiting Partners, an independent franchise of the MRINetwork specializing in factory automation career recruitment in the machine tool, metal fab, and robotics industry, is recruiting for a Safety Specialist to support on-site projects focused on the installation of specialized material handling and automation equipment solutions at client locations. The Safety Specialist will excel implementing strategic action plans to improve day-to-day EHS safety with equipment installation and maintenance on customer sites. The Safety Specialist is focused on optimizing both customer and company EHS safety goals.

Must be willing and able to travel up to 90% mainly domestic. International travel will be required. Excellent driving skills and clean driving record is required.

$75,000 Base salary + Bonus + Profit Share

The Safety Specialist will be responsible for:
  • Assisting in the development, review and update of the installation site safety plan.
  • Manage the upkeep of safety plan documents.
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring health and safety policies, programs and procedures.
  • Managing the Safety Department employees– gauge performance, provide training, coaching and counseling.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate investigation, reporting and preventive actions for accidents/incidents occurring to personnel, contractors and visitors at company or customer sites.
  • Maintaining hazard-free working conditions.
  • Working with contractors to evaluate overall safety and work with upper management to drive positive changes toward the overall improvement of the safety culture.
  • Ensure safety inspections are completed at any facility where company personnel are present.
  • Ensuring all required site-specific safety training is completed by personnel who will work at sites. Training includes, but is not limited to, first aid, CPR, accident prevention and investigation, work place inspections and other matters related to implementing safety procedures.
  • Arranging for health and safety testing and/or evaluations of the workplace by external agencies and consultants as may be necessary.
  • Effectively analyze and conduct risk assessment and implement measures to mitigate those risks.
The Safety Specialist will excel with:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS), Technical Discipline or equivalent education is preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in safety preferably with large scale equipment.
  • Previous experience in administration, implementation and development of environmental, safety and health programs are preferred.
  • Familiarity with Automated Material Handling Systems.
  • Understanding of Electro/mechanical manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Excellent technical, financial, organizational, and analytical ability.
