Job summary

Htprof, a world-leading robotics OEM, seeks a Safety Specialist to support on-site installation of specialized material handling and automation equipment at client locations.

The role requires up to 90% travel (mostly domestic), excellent driving record, and a Bachelor’s in EHS with 1–2 years of safety experience. Base salary is $75,000 with bonus and profit share.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) preferred.
  • 1–2 years’ experience in safety, preferably with large-scale equipment.
  • Experience in administration, implementation and development of environmental, safety and health programs.
  • Familiarity with Automated Material Handling Systems.
  • Understanding of Electro/mechanical manufacturing equipment.
  • Able to interpret technical instructions and manage multiple variables.
  • Excellent technical, financial, organizational, and analytical ability.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, reviewing and updating the installation site safety plan.
  • Maintain safety plan documents.
  • Develop and monitor health and safety policies, programs and procedures.
  • Manage Safety Department staff; gauge performance, train, coach and counsel.
  • Investigate accidents/incidents; ensure timely reporting and preventive actions.
  • Maintain hazard-free working conditions; implement safety improvements.
  • Work with contractors to evaluate safety and drive culture improvements.
  • Ensure site safety trainings are completed (first aid, CPR, inspections, etc.).
  • Arrange health and safety testing/evaluations by external agencies as needed.
  • Analyze risks and implement mitigation measures.

is recruiting for a Safety Specialist to support on‑site projects focused on the installation of specialized material handling and automation equipment solutions at client locations. The Safety Specialist will excel implementing strategic action plans to improve day‑to‑day EHS safety with equipment installation and maintenance on customer sites. The Safety Specialist is focused on optimizing both customer and company EHS safety goals.

Must be willing and able to travel up to 90% mainly domestic. International travel will be required. Excellent driving skills and clean driving record is required.

$75,000 Base salary + Bonus + Profit Share

The Safety Specialist will be responsible for:
  • Assisting in the development, review and update of the installation site safety plan.
  • Manage the upkeep of safety plan documents.
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring health and safety policies, programs and procedures.
  • Managing the Safety Department employees– gauge performance, provide training, coaching and counseling.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate investigation, reporting and preventive actions for accidents/incidents occurring to personnel, contractors and visitors at company or customer sites.
  • Maintaining hazard-free working conditions.
  • Working with contractors to evaluate overall safety and work with upper management to drive positive changes toward the overall improvement of the safety culture.
  • Ensure safety inspections are completed at any facility where company personnel are present.
  • Ensuring all required site‑specific safety training is completed by personnel who will work at sites. Training includes, but is not limited to, first aid, CPR, accident prevention and investigation, work place inspections and other matters related to implementing safety procedures.
  • Arranging for health and safety testing and/or evaluations of the workplace by external agencies and consultants as may be necessary.
  • Effectively analyze and conduct risk assessment and implement measures to mitigate those risks.
The Safety Specialist will excel with:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS), Technical Discipline or equivalent education is preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in safety preferably with large scale equipment.
  • Previous experience in administration, implementation and development of environmental, safety and health programs are preferred.
  • Familiarity with Automated Material Handling Systems.
  • Understanding of Electro/mechanical manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Excellent technical, financial, organizational, and analytical ability.
