The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, serving as a prime integrator for high-performance ISR and aviation systems, including design, integration, testing, certification, training, and logistics support. SNC has a 60-year history of innovation in aerospace and defense, currently focusing on modernizing the U.S. Air Force’s Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) to ensure command and control during emergencies. If you are an experienced safety professional eager to make an impact, consider applying! As a Safety Specialist II, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Demonstrating expertise in aviation safety, mishap prevention, and accident investigation.
  2. Overseeing aviation, ground safety, occupational health, and environmental compliance.
  3. Planning and implementing safety and environmental programs according to regulations and policies.
  4. Identifying hazards and promoting risk reduction to prevent accidents and injuries.
  5. Maintaining hazardous material and waste compliance.
  6. Conducting safety audits, inspections, and equipment checks.
  7. Providing safety training and guidance to employees and leaders.
  8. Supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.

The minimum qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field, or 2+ years safety experience in aerospace, military, aviation, or industry.
  • 3+ years safety experience in relevant industries.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA standards.
  • Ability to conduct hazard analyses, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Proficiency with data analysis, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Reliable transportation and fluency in English.
  • Ability to pass occupational physical including hearing and vision tests.
  • Eligibility for a U.S. Security Clearance and U.S. Person status as per 22 C.F.R. 120.15.

Preferred qualifications include experience with DCMA INST 8210, aerospace industry background, and certifications like ASP or OHST.
