Job Title: Regional Security Operational Center Cybersecurity Analysts I-II

Position Number: 977487

Salary: $55,000 - $73,000

Job Summary/Description

Working under the direction of the Regional Security Operations Center Manager (RSOC), this role involves performing highly complex cybersecurity analysis work. Responsibilities include coordinating, planning, implementing, and monitoring security measures for information systems and infrastructure. Supervises student analysts and trains interns, supporting the educational mission of the RSOC. The position is funded by a grant; employment beyond the grant period is not guaranteed.

Typical Duties/Job Duties
  • Assist the RSOC Manager with training and operations, maintaining communication with ASU stakeholders and supervising analysts and interns.
  • Mentor future cybersecurity professionals, supporting their career development and ensuring quality service delivery.
  • Facilitate communication with the Director and Center Manager, assist in prioritizing cybersecurity services, and support reporting and compliance efforts.
  • Promote continuous improvement using best practices, guide project management activities, and help grow RSOC services through collaboration and strategic planning.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity operations, SIEM, risk management, vulnerability scanning, access controls, and authentication.
  • Experience with information security frameworks, compliance, risk assessments, penetration testing, and network security principles.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, communicate effectively, and research new technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Coursework in Computer Science or related field.
  • Progress toward industry certifications such as Cisco CyberOps Associate, EC-Council CSA, Security+, CISSP, CISA, CISM, GIAC, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; additional experience may substitute for education.
  • At least five years of experience in IT leadership and service delivery. Industry certifications as listed above are preferred.
