Job summary

Kiewit Offshore Services in Ingleside, TX is seeking a Safety Specialist I to support and audit our safety programs in the field. You will report to the Project Safety Manager and help implement the Site Specific Safety Plan, ensuring compliance with OSHA/MSHA regulations and company standards.

The role emphasizes hazard identification, incident investigations, and training across operations. 0-2 years in construction safety with strong communication skills is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety, Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
• Knowledge of construction safety and current Federal and OSHA requirements.
• 0-2 years of construction safety experience, especially training coordination.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Responsibilities

• Exercise Stop Work Responsibility to ensure adherence to policies and safety plans.
• Plan, prioritize, and problem-solve with field operations daily.
• Encourage and advise staff to execute safety plans.
• Maintain OSHA/MSHA files and assist with incident investigations.
• Conduct daily hazard inspections and guide corrective actions.
