Job description

The InProduction Safety Department exists to promote and implement safety standards that prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, clients, and visitors. The Safety Specialist will travel throughout the US to InProduction’s active construction sites and be responsible for site safety. Overnight, out-of-town travel up to 85% is standard for this position. Most work sites are outdoors at venues such as professional sporting stadiums, golf courses, racetracks, and concert sites, primarily on the West Coast and in Las Vegas. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth in safety management.

Reports To: Vice President of Human Resources & Safety

Direct Reports: None

Travel Arrangements: All travel and lodging are paid by InProduction

Responsibilities:

  1. Establish safety standards through leadership and example
  2. Assist in updating, implementing, and enforcing safety policies
  3. Perform duties outlined in the company’s safety program
  4. Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations
  5. Inspect and achieve safety goals at job sites
  6. Ensure OSHA compliance for employees and sites
  7. Lead accident investigations, communicate findings and recommendations
  8. Coordinate safety training for staff
  9. Conduct weekly toolbox talks
  10. Attend seminars to stay updated on regulations
  11. Write reports and respond to inquiries

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain emergency response and accident prevention plans
  2. Identify hazards and implement immediate corrective actions
  3. Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA)

Other requirements include:

  • Up to 85% overnight travel
  • Ability to sit, bend, stand, and walk for long periods
  • Work at heights over 40 feet, climb ladders
  • 20/20 vision with correction
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to travel by airplane and work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations

Preferred Candidates Will Have:

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • OSHA 30-hour certification
  • At least 1 year of safety leadership experience on-site
  • Additional safety certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Risk Management, or related field
  • Extensive travel experience
  • Military veterans are encouraged to apply
