Safety Specialist - Utility-Scale Solar (Remote + Rotational Travel)
Location: Remote (Home-Based)
Travel Requirement: 90%+ (4 weeks on / 1 week off rotational travel)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Specialist to join our growing team in the Utility-Scale Solar sector. This role is remote-based, with extensive travel required to active project sites across various states including Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, among others. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on-site safety efforts, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies, and cultivating a proactive safety culture across all field operations.
Serve as the primary safety lead on active solar construction sites, guiding all safety-related activities and reporting directly to corporate safety leadership.
Conduct daily site safety audits, hazard assessments, and toolbox talks.
Implement and enforce site-specific Safety Plans in accordance with OSHA, company, and client requirements.
Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.
Provide hands-on safety training for site personnel and subcontractors.
Monitor and evaluate contractor and employee compliance with safety protocols.
Lead site-specific orientation and onboarding related to safety procedures.
Maintain accurate safety records, including inspections, near-miss reports, injury logs, and training documentation.
Act as a liaison between site teams and corporate HSE leadership, escalating concerns as needed.
Promote a strong "Safety-First" culture across all levels of site operations.
2+ years of experience in Utility-Scale Solar construction safety.
Demonstrated experience leading site-level safety for EPC or large-scale renewable projects.
Ability to travel 90%+ and work on a 4 weeks on / 1 week off rotation schedule.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental health and safety practices.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with digital reporting tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple states.
OSHA 30-Hour Certification (Construction Industry).
First Aid/CPR Certification.
CHST, STS-C, or other professional safety certification (or in progress).
Experience working in multiple jurisdictions with varying regulatory environments.
This is a safety-sensitive position; compliance with pre-employment and ongoing drug testing requirements is mandatory.
Lodging, travel arrangements, and per diem are provided during site rotations.
