Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in Health & Safety and Occupational Health practices in construction or industrial environments.
• Experience with Environment Health and Safety (EHS) programs, including regulatory compliance and site safety audits.
• Proficiency in Safety Training, including toolbox talks and formal safety presentations.
• Hands-on experience in Accident Investigation, incident reporting, and corrective actions.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and applicable safety regulations.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage field teams.
• Strong documentation skills and safety-record keeping.
• Ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions and active construction sites.
• Preferred: Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, CSP, CHST) and experience in heavy civil or construction settings.
• Preferred: Associate or bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.

Role Description The Safety Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Oakmont, PA. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day safety activities on construction sites, including conducting safety inspections, identifying hazards, and ensuring compliance with company safety policies and regulatory standards. The Safety Specialist will develop and deliver safety training, maintain safety documentation and reports, and support incident and accident investigations to determine root causes and corrective actions. The role also involves collaborating with project managers, field supervisors, and crew members to promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement in health and safety practices.
