Job description

The InProduction Safety Department exists to promote and implement safety standards that prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, clients, and visitors. The Safety Specialist will travel throughout the US to active construction sites and be responsible for site safety. Overnight travel of up to 85% is standard for this position. Most work sites are outdoors at venues such as professional sporting stadiums, golf courses, racetracks, and concert sites, mainly in Las Vegas and the West Coast. Reports To: Vice President of Human Resources & Safety

Direct Reports: None

Travel Arrangements: All travel and lodging are paid for by InProduction

Responsibilities:

  • Establish safety standards through leadership and example
  • Assist in updating, implementing, and enforcing safety policies
  • Perform duties outlined in the company's safety program
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations
  • Inspect and ensure job site safety goals are met
  • Ensure OSHA compliance at job sites
  • Lead accident investigations; communicate findings and recommendations
  • Coordinate safety training for employees and supervisors
  • Develop and conduct weekly toolbox talks
  • Attend seminars to stay updated on regulations
  • Write reports and respond to inquiries
  • Develop and maintain emergency response and accident prevention plans
  • Identify safety hazards and mitigate issues immediately
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
  • Apply corrective and preventive actions promptly when discrepancies are found
  • Travel overnight up to 85% required
  • Work involves sitting, bending, standing, walking for extended periods
  • Work at heights greater than 40 feet and climb ladders
  • Must have 20/20 vision with corrective lenses
  • Excellent communication skills in a professional setting
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to travel by airplane
  • Occasional evening and weekend work
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations
  • Strong desire to promote safety
  • Preferred Candidates Will Have:
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish (verbal and written)
  • OSHA 30-hour certification
  • At least 1 year of site safety leadership experience
  • Additional safety certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Risk Management, Construction Management, or related field
  • Extensive travel experience
  • Military veterans are encouraged to apply
