Job summary

SouthCoast Health is looking for a Safety Sitter to provide patient observation primarily at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford. This per diem role includes shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Hours: Per Diem

Shift: Day/Evening shift, 7:00am - 7:00pm with weekend and holiday rotation per per-diem policy

Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

Responsibilities

Under supervision of individually assigned Manager, Patient Care Services or Designee, perform various duties in providing rounds and observation of assigned patients who may be at risk for suicide or high risk to injury of themselves or others.

Qualifications

• Equal to completion of four years of high school or equivalent.
• Additional secondary healthcare training including mental health training is preferred.
• Proficient computer skills including medical based programs are preferred.
• Previous similar patient care experience is preferred.
• Education and experience equivalent to one (1) year of experience is required.
• CPR certification required within six months.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.

USD $16.11 - USD $26.02 /Hr.
