Job summary

City of Gainesville, GA is seeking a senior Civil Engineer to manage design and construction of major infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, irrigation systems, stormwater ponds, and water/wastewater facilities. You will review plans, confer with engineering firms, and ensure designs meet city needs and standards.

Responsibilities include inspecting projects, preparing specifications, processing payments and change orders, and coordinating with officials and the public.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree preferred in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum 10 years in engineering or construction management.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Design and supervise infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, irrigation systems, stormwater ponds, and water/wastewater facilities.
• Review design plans with engineering firms to meet City needs and standards.
• Inspect projects to ensure materials and procedures meet required specifications.
• Prepare project specifications and drawings for City projects.
• Process payments and change order requests for construction projects.
