Job summary

Reliable Churchill LLLP is seeking a Safety & Security Manager to oversee safety and security programs across Maryland and Washington, DC markets. This full-time role includes a salary of $80,000–$110,000 plus a 15% annual bonus and occasional night shifts as needed.

The position requires 5+ years in safety or security, a related degree, strong MS Office skills, and excellent communication and analytical abilities.

Qualifications

  • Associates and/or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in safety and/or security; experience implementing safety programs in fleet/operations environments.
  • Proficient in MS Office and related computer software; strong presentation skills.
  • Results-oriented with strong verbal/written communication; customer service oriented; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and reporting skills; sound judgment and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team; detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Safety Training: identify local operations and sales leaders for the local safety committee; train each team member on safety responsibility; conduct monthly Safety Committee Meetings; coordinate and conduct monthly safety meetings for each division; create processes to assign safety training programs to the state for DOT and OSHA compliance.
  • Security: create, manage, and monitor security policies and procedures; liaise with Federal, State, and local law enforcement and emergency services; investigate, document, and maintain records of all security incidents; administer and maintain security badge and entry systems for properties.
  • Workers’ Compensation: file and manage workers’ compensation claims; ensure compliance with state regulations and federal laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA); conduct accident investigations; maintain OSHA 300 logs; file OSHA 300A reports; collaborate with WC insurance adjusters, HR, and Legal; conduct quarterly reviews with the insurance vendor.
  • Liability – Vehicle and General: coordinate vehicle, property damage, and bodily injury claims; conduct accident investigations; monitor MVRs for associates in driving positions; ensure appropriate coverage for driving roles.
  • Compliance: educate Transportation leaders on DOT reporting requirements; monitor DOT audit risk and implement corrective plans; oversee Green Roads program and address unacceptable driving; participate in DOT compliance webinars as needed.
  • OSHA Compliance: implement statewide processes for annual OSHA training; support OSHA investigations and requests; conduct quarterly warehouse inspections; develop a first responder program (CPR/first aid) and participate in OSHA-related webinars.
  • General: perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Physical Requirements
  • Regularly stand, sit, speak, and hear; use computer and telephone.
