Job summary

Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago is seeking a Safety Support Associate at our Oakland Avenue Store in Milwaukee. The role combines proactive security with exceptional customer service to deter theft, prevent hazards, and prepare for incidents.

You will perform routine safety checks, patrol high-risk areas, log inspections, assist customers, and support management with crisis de-escalation. Strong communication and basic computer skills are required; prior security experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of college education or experience equivalency.
• A minimum of one continuous year of security experience with frequent public contact.
• Excellent inter-personal communications skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in both verbal and written form with customers, co-workers, supervisors and subordinates.

Responsibilities

• Implement a greet and guide protocol and provide directions and product information to customers.
• Conduct random visible patrols, monitor high-risk areas, and communicate in real time using VoCoVo; partner with AP and law enforcement for safety workshops.
• Create routine safety checks and log inspections of all areas including bathrooms, breakrooms, parking lots.
• Promote see something, say something and coordinate quarterly drills with the Safety Department.
• Use NetTrack for accurate reporting and respond promptly to emergencies with de-escalation techniques.
• Use incident report analytics to identify patterns and adjust patrols or training.
