This role is part of our Purina Animal Nutrition business, supporting our network of local cooperatives, independent dealers, and large retailers to serve producers and animal owners across the United States. Safety/Sanitation Supervisor

The Safety/Sanitation Supervisor participates in the design, development, and implementation of facility safety, health, and environmental programs and procedures to safeguard employees and ensure compliance with Land O'Lakes EH&S standards, as well as all Federal, State, and Local safety and environmental regulations.

  1. Conduct safety and environmental audits and validate buildings, facilities, tools, and equipment.
  2. Determine safety training requirements and provide employees with relevant safety training aligned with company EH&S standards, including regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and employee engagement.
  3. Perform ergonomics assessments and implement corrective actions.
  4. Assist Maintenance Manager with ISN contractor safety management.
  5. Implement and own specific safety elements such as training, contractor safety, hot work, emergency response, among others.
  6. Investigate accidents and promote safety-conscious work practices and training programs.
  7. Provide safety performance metrics.
  8. Conduct root cause analyses and handle other environmental responsibilities.
  9. Manage the facility sanitation program to ensure compliance and meet sanitation standards.
  10. Oversee inventory of safety and sanitation supplies.
  11. Coordinate with Maintenance on facility regulatory inspections and preventive maintenance (PMs).
  12. Assist in vendor selection and management related to MRO, safety, and sanitation supplies.
Experience and Education (Required)
  • High School Diploma (required)
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 2 years of EHS experience in manufacturing
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and presentation abilities at various organizational levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Effective cross-functional communication skills in a fast-paced environment
Additional Details
  • Travel less than 10% annually
  • Some off-shift hours, weekends, or holidays may be required
  • Salary typically near the middle of the range for qualified candidates
