Bombard Electric is seeking a Safety Representative to join our Reno, NV team. The role supports administration of project safety programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment on a variety of electrical construction projects.

The position is hourly with overtime eligibility, offering benefits and competitive pay based on certifications and experience; requires a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety/health or equivalent construction safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Understands and enforces federal, state, and local safety regulations; stays updated on changes and best practices.
• Promotes a positive safety culture among site supervision and workers.
• Assists supervision in identifying, documenting, and resolving hazardous conditions.
• Manages safety program administration, training activities, and compliance documentation.
• Coaches workers and supervision in safe practices and procedures.
• Completes/reviews JHA, permits, Emergency Action Plans, MOPs, SOPs, and related safety docs.
• Conducts safety inspections and audits using a cloud-based document control system; tracks and closes items.

As the leading electrical construction contractor in Las Vegas, Reno, and Mesa, Bombard Electric's projects range from mega-resorts and data centers to tenant improvements and photovoltaic solar projects. JOB SUMMARY

Assist in the administration of project safety program to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• A working knowledge of occupational safety at a level normally acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety/health or equivalent experience such as a minimum of 4 years in construction working as a safety professional.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Thoroughly understands all federal, state, and local company safety related regulations. Stays up to date on new or changes to regulations and best practices.
• Promotes a positive safety culture in a professional manner among site supervision and workers.
• Assists site supervision in identifying, documenting, and determining resolutions to hazardous and potentially hazardous and/or unsafe working conditions and behaviors.
• Assists in supervision and administration of safety, compliance, and training activities.
• Observes and provides coaching to workers and field supervision in safe and best practices.
• Assists in completion of and/or review completed JHA’s, Permits, Emergency Action Plans, MOP’s, SOP’s and other proactive safety related documentation.
• Conducts visual and documented safety inspections and audits using a cloud-based document control program, tracking open items and following up to ensure abatement.
• Provides and coordinates safety training as required including but limited to New Hire Orientation, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Excavation Training, Toolbox talks and Safety Stand Up topics.
• Visually inspects and documents safety equipment inspections.
• Manages safety related documents through company and client databases.
• Responds, investigates, and provides detailed reports for any safety issue/incident that may occur, including compiling data, photographs etc.
• Conducts reclassification and various industrial hygiene samplings, such as gas, 02, noise test to ensure safe working conditions when required.
• Assists in emergencies as required.
• Must have the following trainings: Narcan, Bloodborne Pathogens, and emergency procedures training.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

• Background check, credit check, MVR and drug screen may be required (will vary by position).
