Job summary

Metra seeks a Manager of System Safety Engineering to oversee regulatory compliance and safety reporting under FRA rules, including Fatigue Risk Management. You will manage staff, coordinate audits, and drive continual safety improvements across the department.

The role requires deep FRA/Osha/FTA knowledge, strong leadership, and excellent communication to interact with leadership and external agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety and occupational health or related field with 4 years of applicable experience.
• Six years in occupational health or safety management with regulatory exposure.
• Expert knowledge of FRA/OSHA/FTA rules and related safety practices.
• Ability to lead teams, set priorities, and manage schedules.

Responsibilities

• Approve time off, coordinate staff, and ensure policy compliance.
• Lead regulatory safety reporting related to FRA rules and Fatigue Risk Management.
• Conduct audits, internal and external, to meet regulatory requirements.
• Provide training on FRA/FTA safety regulations to staff and leadership.
