Responsibilities

• Safety Program Development: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies to ensure a safe working environment for all employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
• Review and update safety manuals, procedures, and protocols in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and industry best practices.
• Safety Training and Education: Conduct safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and workshops to educate employees on safety procedures, hazard identification, and accident prevention techniques.
• Coordinate with department managers to ensure that employees receive job‑specific safety training and certifications as required.
• Safety Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular inspections and audits of worksites, equipment, and facilities to identify potential safety hazards, unsafe conditions, and non‑compliance with safety regulations.
• Document inspection findings, issue corrective actions, and follow up to ensure timely resolution of safety issues.
• Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and other safety‑related incidents to determine root causes, contributing factors, and corrective actions needed to prevent recurrence.
• Prepare and submit incident reports, including detailed analysis and recommendations for improvement, to management and regulatory agencies as required.
• Safety Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local occupational health and safety regulations, including OSHA standards, EPA requirements, and industry‑specific safety standards.
• Stay updated on changes to safety regulations and standards and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
• Safety Communication and Promotion: Promote a safety‑first culture by communicating safety messages, initiatives, and goals through various channels, including safety meetings, newsletters, posters, and digital signage.
• Encourage employee participation and engagement in safety programs, committees, and activities to create a sense of ownership and accountability for safety.
