Job summary

Chugach Electric Association is seeking a Manager, Safety to lead the ongoing development of the company safety program in Alaska. You will evaluate work environments, develop training, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while managing field inspections and safety projects.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in safety and at least five years of supervisory safety experience, with CSP or CIH certification to be obtained within one year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field.
• Professional Certification (CSP or CIH) or obtain within one year.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in safety leadership.
• Experience in industrial incident investigations and written mitigation plans.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement safety, health, training, and incident prevention programs for regulatory compliance.
• Manage and improve company safety programs and budgets.
• Partner with management to assess and enhance safety programs.
• Conduct field/site visits to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Lead accident investigations and identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with regulators and safety associations to stay current with requirements.
