Job summary

The City of Santa Fe Springs is seeking a Safety Inspector to develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive safety program for city employees. This role reports to the Personnel Director and requires coordinating safety at job sites, conducting inspections, and managing accident investigations.

Responsibilities include training staff in safety procedures, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate’s degree in risk management, engineering technology, industrial safety, business administration, human resources or a closely related field supplemented by one or more years of responsible experience in risk management, occupational health and safety, or other related work.
• Must possess a valid Louisiana State Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Performs surveys and job site inspections.
• Coordinates job site safety.
• Trains employees in safety procedures.
• Conducts accident investigations; takes pictures of the accident scene and damage; maintains files for each occurrence.
• Observes job sites to ensure proper safety procedures.
