Qualifications

• Experience in Health & Safety and Occupational Health with regulatory application.
• Strong EHS background including risk assessment and control measures.

• Experience in Accident Investigation, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations; HAZWOPER and related programs preferred.
• Clear documentation and concise safety reporting skills.
• Ability to engage workers and support safety programs on-site.

Role Description

The Safety Professional will serve in a contract, on-site role located in Alma, MI, supporting day-to-day safety operations for client facilities. Responsibilities include conducting regular safety inspections and audits, assisting with the development and implementation of site-specific safety programs, and monitoring compliance with applicable regulations and company policies. The role involves delivering safety training sessions, supporting OSHA, HAZWOPER, and other compliance-related initiatives, and maintaining accurate documentation of safety activities. The Safety Professional will also perform accident and incident investigations, identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and collaborate with site leadership to reduce hazards and promote continuous improvement in safety performance. This role requires active engagement with workers at all levels to encourage safe behaviors and reinforce safety standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in Health & Safety and Occupational Health, with the ability to apply regulatory and best-practice standards in the field.
• Strong Environment Health and Safety (EHS) background, including risk assessment, hazard identification, and implementation of control measures.
• Proficiency in Safety Training, including developing and delivering instructor-led sessions tailored to diverse audiences.
• Experience in Accident Investigation, including incident reporting, root cause analysis, and development of corrective and preventive actions.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and related standards; experience with HAZWOPER and other specialized safety programs is beneficial.
• Ability to communicate clearly, document findings, and prepare concise safety reports and written programs.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with supervisors, frontline workers, and management in an on-site environment.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA outreach trainer, HAZWOPER, CSP, ASP, or equivalent) and prior experience in industrial or construction settings are preferred.
• High level of personal integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to fostering a proactive safety culture.
