Job summary

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville is hiring a Safety Care Partner for full-time night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. The role supports a safe hospital environment for patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, agitation, or self-harm, helping maintain or improve function during the stay.

Responsibilities include de-escalation, confidential communication, fall prevention, and assisting with restraints when needed; completion of orientation training and the required BLS within 90

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• Prior healthcare experience or enrollment in a health sciences program strongly preferred.
• Must complete Sentara Safety Partner Training and core competencies during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with providing a safe hospital environment for patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, agitation, impulsiveness or self-harm.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques, maintain confidentiality, and ensure patient safety.
• Assist with fall prevention and restraints as required.
• Participate in required safety and security training and orientation.

Applicants without prior experience or current health sciences program status must successfully complete a Sentara Safety Partner Training Course in addition to core competencies during orientation.Core competencies for all safety partners to include communication, confidentiality, de-escalation, fall prevention, patient safety, restraints, stroke, and suicide.
