Job summary

Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA is hiring a Safety Partner for full-time night shifts (7P–7A). You will assist in maintaining a safe hospital environment for patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, agitation, and self-harm, enabling recovery and safe care.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or Equivalent, BLS within 90 days, and completion of Sentara Safety Partner Training. Prior healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Complete Sentara Safety Partner Training Course during orientation if no prior health sciences program status.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire required.

Full-Time Nights 7P - 7A rotating schedule

The Safety Partner Assists with the provision of a safe hospital environment conducive to individualized patient care for patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, agitation, impulsiveness, self-harm or other risk behaviors enabling patients to maintain or enhance function during the hospital stay.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

Certification/Licensure

Applicants without prior experience or current health sciences program status must successfully complete a Sentara Safety Partner Training Course in addition to core competencies during orientation.

BLS required within 90 days of hire.

Experience

Previous healthcare experience or enrollment in a health sciences program (Preferred)

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $17.82 - $25.65 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
