Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Safety Partner for its Nursing Resource Pool in Norfolk, VA. This full-time, day shift role focuses on patient safety by monitoring at-risk individuals and supporting the care team to prevent safety incidents.

You will work closely with a collaborative hospital team in a setting that values safety, quality and compassionate care, helping patients maintain function during their stay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Prior healthcare experience or enrollment in a health sciences program is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with keeping patients safe by sitting with patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, self-harm, or other risk behaviors.
• Collaborate with the care team to maintain a safe environment and support patient functioning during hospital stay.

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Nursing Resource Pool is hiring a full-time Safety Partner.

Hours & Shift

Full-time, Day Shift 7am-7pm.

As a Safety Partner with Sentara, you will assist with keeping patients and the hospital a safe environment. The primary duties of this position include sitting with patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, self-harm, or other risk behaviors enabling patients to maintain function during their hospital stay. You will find that teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to provide the best care for our patients.

Salary and Compensation

We provide market‑competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full‑time employment is $17.82 - $25.65 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on‑call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra‑shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is a 525‑bed tertiary care facility that is home to the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, and also serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School.
