Job summary

Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA is hiring a Safety Partner for the Evening shift (3P–11P). The role focuses on maintaining a safe environment for patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, agitation, or self-harm, with required completion of a safety partner training course if no prior health science experience.

BLS is required within 90 days of hire. Applicants with prior healthcare experience or enrollment in a health sciences program are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Sentara Safety Partner Training Course may be required for those without prior experience.
• BLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing a safe hospital environment for patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, agitation, self-harm or other risk behaviors.
• Support orientation and training related to safety partner program.
• Participate in incident response and safety protocols.

The Safety Partner Assists with the provision of a safe hospital environment conducive to individualized patient care for patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, agitation, impulsiveness, self-harm or other risk behaviors enabling patients to maintain or enhance function during the hospital stay.

Certification/Licensure

Applicants without prior experience or current health sciences program status must successfully complete a Sentara Safety Partner Training Course in addition to core competencies during orientation.

BLS required within 90 days of hire.

Experience

Previous healthcare experience or enrollment in a health sciences program (Preferred)

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $17.82 - $25.65 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
