Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a dedicated Safety Partner to support a safe ED environment for patients at risk of various safety concerns. The role is full-time (36 hours/week) with a first shift (7 AM–7 PM) at the Emergency Department in Norfolk, VA.

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent, BLS within 90 days, de-escalation and physical intervention training within 30 days. Prior healthcare exposure is preferred; orientation includes a safety partner training course.

• Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• De-escalation and physical intervention training required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining a safe hospital environment for patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, agitation or self-harm.
• Support nursing and clinical teams in patient care and safety monitoring.
• Uphold Sentara safety policies and participate in orientation and ongoing training.

The base pay range for full-time employment is $17.82 - $25.65 hourly.
