This is a 1099 contract spanning approximately six months, with strong field visibility and consistent hours. Start ASAP and lead safety on site, coordinating with crews and management to keep high-risk work moving safely.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of construction safety experience.
• Strong hands-on steel erection safety experience.
• Working knowledge of OSHA Subpart R.
• Experience with fall protection, cranes, rigging, aerial lifts, elevated work.
• Ability to work ~58 hours per week and coordinate with Turner/GC teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safety for active steel erection operations.
• Enforce fall protection, crane, rigging, welding safety.

Steel erection experience is not optional for this one.

We are seeking an experienced, field-driven Safety Manager to oversee steel erection activities on a major data center construction project in Johnstown, Ohio. Turner is the General Contractor, so the selected professional must understand Turner's safety expectations and be comfortable operating within a highly structured GC environment.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants consistent hours, a six-month assignment, and a visible role on a high-profile data center project.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN:

• Daily field safety oversight for active steel erection operations
• Fall protection, elevated work, bolting, welding, rigging, cranes, and material handling
• Jobsite inspections, field observations, and immediate hazard correction
• JHAs, pre-task plans, toolbox talks, and safety meetings
• Coordination with steel crews, subcontractor leadership, Turner, and project management
• Incident and near-miss investigations, documentation, and corrective-action tracking
• Verification that crews follow OSHA, project-specific, and Turner safety requirements
• A consistent, highly visible safety presence in the field

WHAT WE NEED:

• 5-10 years of construction safety experience
• Strong, hands-on steel erection safety experience
• Working knowledge of OSHA Subpart R
• Experience with fall protection, cranes, rigging, aerial lifts, and elevated work
• Working knowledge of Turner Construction safety expectations and procedures
