Job summary

You will lead jobsite safety meetings, trainings, and inspections while supporting crews and leadership to ensure safety compliance and productive operations. Reporting to the Senior Safety Manager, you will be hands‑on, maintaining safety documentation, participating in investigations, and driving a strong safety culture with field teams.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of safety experience in construction.
• Heavy civil background is a plus but not required.
• CHST certification is required or must be obtained within an agreed timeline.
• Strong understanding of OSHA standards and construction safety best practices.
• Prior experience in trenching and excavation is a plus.
• Must have OSHA 500.

Safety Manager / Heavy Civil Construction

Gradex, Inc., a heavy civil construction company, is hiring a Safety Manager in Indianapolis, Indiana.

OPPORTUNITY:

Gradex is on an exciting growth plan with dynamic employment opportunities. As our Safety Manager, you will play a key role in creating and maintaining a safe work environment across all projects. You’ll help lead day-to-day safety efforts including jobsite safety meetings, trainings, and job-site inspections, while supporting crews and leadership to ensure compliance and safe work practices. Reporting to the Senior Safety Manager, you will be a hands‑on partner in keeping our projects safe, productive, and well‑managed.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Gradex, Inc. will reward your Safety talents with a salary of $70K–$85K depending on your experience.
